The man behind the music free watch 2. The Man Behind the Music Free watch tv. Flashburn Member since: Feb. 28, 2003 Offline. Ive decided to start a thread where everyone can get to know about their fellow NG Audio artists more. This Thread can be used to display your musical background, personal background or both. To kick it off I'll get the ball rolling myself. NG NAME: FLASHBURN INFO: 17 years old / M / Calgary, Canada NG BACKGROUND: I have been visiting NG since 2001, Made my account and first 2 audio submissions in 2003, left for 2 years and now im back. MUSICAL BACKGROUND: Ive been making music on FL studio for about 4 years because Ive always had a passion and desire for electronic-based music. I took piano lessons for 2 years, then quit, And I played Saxophone in my Jr. High Band for 3 years (Gr. 7, 8, 9). My greatest influences and ispirations in my music are Milke Oldfield, Transa, various other modern Trance and Dance artists, and even NG's own DJ_SERI. EDUCATION/ EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Im graduated, but im taking a year off of school and working(gay.... ) before going to University. HOBBIES OTHER THAN AUDIO: Sports for sure!!!, I play hockey and lacrosse. I used to play football and rugby too (in highschool). FAVORITES: Sport: Lacrosse Music Genre: Hard Trance Video game: Heroes IV Blondes/Brunettes/Redheads: Brunettes for sure;P NG Artist: Psybot NG Song: Hmmm probably Khuskans Final version for Outside Anyone else that wants to follow up with stuff about themselves by all means do so! I just hope this thread doesnt get locked for not being appropriate, but I think it is by all means appropriate way for Audio artists to introduce themselves/ Express themselves. And finally what I look like! Erkie Jul. 16, 2004 I don't see how this is going to work, a lot of people take their mystique quite seriously. This would be more like individual cries for attention, you can learn most of this stuff just by searching the forums or just asking. At 12/20/05 11:00 PM, Erkie wrote: This would be more like individual cries for attention, you can learn most of this stuff just by searching the forums or just asking. You could be right... for all I know this could turn into another thread where ppl spam their music advertisements, but right now I want to see where it goes. Besides I think its a great way for new ppl to introduce themselves to the Audio Forum. And as for mystique, you dont have to say as much as I did just simply say as much as you want everyone to know. Mine is just to serve as an example NEVR Jun. 29, 2005 This would be more like individual cries for attention, you can learn most of this stuff just by searching the forums or just asking. i agree there... it's a nice idea, though. The first song I have ever heard was the Star Wars opening theme and followed by a Springsteen song. The rest is pretty much downhill. What is your motivation for putting songs together? just whatever comes into my head. I usually listen to older songs and think of ways to add or improve them. You've been around a while. How have you managed to keep yourself together all these years? I don't. Things are done out of impulse and instinct. Just don't catch me in a fight... you might find yourself really fucked up. Or better yet, stay on my good side, I tend to be very vindictive at times. Any words of wisdom to the people out there? yeah. All of my supporters out there, thank you. And all the zero voters out there, Stats don'e mean shit, if you vote zero just to boost your own rating, fuck you. You have no right to make music in the first place. I'd rather shoot you with rusted dull arrows than flag your shit. Just keep that in mind when you click that zero link. Die... I've been using Acid right from version 1, up to version 5 (which is what I use now), and it'll probably stay that way for some time. Besides dabbling in guitar, I play the drums in a local grindcore band. I've been drumming for around 4 or 5 years. EDUCATION/ EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Managed to graduate from highscool, and now I'm in university studying computer science, and i'm thinking of taking games technology next year or the year after. I'd like to get a phd, but I can't see that happening:P. Alias: Khuskan Other aliases: Pretty sure thats it, been using that name since I was Ten years old. True Name: Mark Edward Jefferis Birthdate: 10/11/1989 (dd/mm/yyyy) Height: Exactly 6 foot Weight: 60kg. I don't know a thing about pounds, I'm British. How did you first get into music? I started learning piano when I was but four years old, and it sort of developed from there. I took singing and vocal lessons for 3 years, from ages 6 to 11, but then my voice broke and I gave up because it started to hurt, not to say I can't sing anymore. I got into music production at school when I was introduced to Cubase. I was using cubase right through the first few months on the NG audio portal, until I started using Reason 3. 0, which seriously helped me increase my ability. What is your motivation for putting songs together? I always think up my songs early in the morning, while in the shower. I normally go to college straight after this, so suffice to say, there are a lot of great song ideas I simply forgot by the time I got round to making them. I also do a lot of covers, mostly of Video Game tracks, and more recently of Christmas songs, it being the season and all. I started wanting to produce more modern, electronic stuff, to the more acoustic sounding orchesteral tracks. In my mind, nothing can beat a well composed orchesteral symphony, and not only are they great fun to make, but they can be remixed at the touch of a button, be it by me or sombody else. How have you managed to keep yourself together all these years? Mostly the simplicity of music production with a computer. Ok, maybe its just easy for me, because most of the time on my computer, you can garuntee Reason is open and my keyboard on, ready to receive any quick melody I come up with. Also, I'm fortunate enough to come from a very... generous family, who were more than happy to spend well over £2500 on the current setup I use for production, including software, new computer, and an array of midi input devices. Any words of wisdom to the people out there? Start small with programs like Cubase. Only once you get a feel for how to structure music, go big time with more proffesional programs like FL and Reason. You can never get more experience than by doing somthing, and if you don't manage to finish an early song, you can always return to it when you're more experienced. Always make sure you cover at least one VG track, even if you don't really want to get into that. The flash artists LOVE the things, and if you get used in a flash, you're garunteed a bit more popularity. Oh yeah, and hang around on the BBS, because its definatly the place to get noticed. is an industry standard dude:P. FL and Reason are far from touching it in terms of professionalism. *lurks back into the shadows* At 12/23/05 07:37 AM, jarrydn wrote: is an industry standard dude:P. I like the funny cartoons, they make me laugh, I laugh, "HAHAHA", then I make the music, you play it, they make you laugh, you laugh, "HAHAHA" MUSICAL BACKGROUND: In the Summer of 1999, I decided that rock and roll needed me to whip out my junk and tour. After rock and roll told me to get bent, I told people that I could produce music and after 52 paychecks (nearly two years) they still believe me... NG background: Signed up sometime back in??? maybe 2003 I guess, but lost the password on the that account and changed email - moved - you know that game... so I created the new one in 2004 - Considering my job, it's a little ironic that I've never (and probably never will) submit any flash to this site. Musical Background: Started out on piano when I was a kid - took those lousy lessons from a broken old woman with no real teaching background - Hated them so I decided to become self-taught - much later in life took a few (completely useless) music classes in college... As I grew up I started collecting more instruments - went through a sax, a few guitars, a bass, a set of drums, more keyboards than you can shake an eighties hair-band at, a few little ethnic bits - jaw harps, kalimbas - those sorts of things Education/ Employment: Used a little known loophole (that no longer exists) to graduate high school a few years early and went straight on into college so that I could get a few semesters that I needed for military contract purposes. Spent six years in the Marine Corps as a Nuclear, Biological & Chemical Warfare Defense Specialist, Was a member of the Marine Corps Rifle Pistol Team as well as a bunch of other noteworthy crap while in service... I have an utterly and completely useless degree in Graphic Design with a focus on 3-d animation... pblblblblttt... I learned exactly three things in college: 1. Those who can't, - teach 2. Apparently, it's perfectly acceptable to steal other peoples (or more to point - steal MY) work and take credit for it... 3. Sallie-Mae is a fucking crack whore douchbag bitch. After several years of clawing through various start-ups, I am now the Creative Director for a small multimedia company that does alot of really dry work for a few really big companies. I do not work in an office - I work in my pajamas - I only interact with the other people at my company over the phone - it's not a bad deal at all - but they tend to keep me VERY busy and on occasion, I'll end up working several days straight - several days meaning - start a project on a Monday and work on it without any breaks or sleep until Thursday... The longest I've gone without sleep working on a project is just over 5 days I think... It's always nice to work a 130 hour shift - but like I said - pajamas man! and single malt scotch at 8:45 AM if I want it! Hobbies OTHER than audio: I don't really know what this word means but it looks like that J. R. Tolkien thing... "there once was a hobby who lived in a hole... ".
